Our First Bat Mitzvah!

We had the honor of coordinating and catering our first Bat Mitzvah event on May 23 for Deborah Greene.  This was a weekend celebration with family and friends marking the special occasion.

Friday evening, Deborah’s grandparents hosted a small, intimate gather at the Botanical Gardens for out-of-town family.  It was a beautiful setting with celladon linens, pale yellow ribbons and Spring flower arrangements by Jules Design.  We served pecan-crusted salmon, chicken breasts sauteed with white wine, tomatoes and mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli drizzled with a light butter sauce, creme brulee, petit fours and biscotti.

Saturday morning, the Bat Mitzvah ceremony was held at the Fayetteville Town Center, followed by a light luncheon of miniature egg salad and tuna sandwiches, pastries, vegetables and dip, watermelon fruit basket and bagels with lox and cream cheese.

The big party was held that evening, also at the Fayetteville Town Center in the large Ozark room.  We transformed the room to reflect Deborah’s favorite color, purple.  The linens and flowers all reflected her color scheme.  But the highlight of the evening was Deborah’s elegant “Candy Station”.

We draped purple fabric, hung a beautiful chandelier and special ordered all purple-colored candies to make the station the hit of the evening.  Her friends actually ran to it!  Miniature purple Chinese take-out containers were available for guests to store their candy within.

We really enjoyed being a part of this event and helping the Greene family realize Deborah’s special day.  It was definitely memorable…
